What is NoCode?

In this episode of Digital Innovation Weekly we are going to analyze the phenomenon of No Codes and we will interview one of the guys from Ncode, a start-up that has opened an Academy to teach No Code development in Italy.
No-code is a phenomenon that has grown exponentially in recent years with the advance of technology. Now you can build digital products and solutions without coding skills in hours.
The no-code approach has been around for decades, but it has never been as popular as it is now. This is because there are more and more new platforms available for developers who want to create their own applications without coding knowledge.
No-code development allows non-programmers to find a solution for their digital product needs. It also democratizes the creation of digital products as anyone with an idea can bring it to life without the need for technical skills.
Because it's an important trend
Over the last few years programming has become an increasingly complex field with new programming languages adding to the old ones and too few full stack programmers becoming unobtainable due to the high demand of the job market. Improvements in platforms and artificial intelligence have allowed the birth and growth of numerous digital tools to create almost any type of application or product. Market research indicates that il 65% of the Apps developed by 2024 will be developed in No Codealways within 3 years the 75% of large companies will use at least 4 digital tools continuously, ed the 79% of companies will develop web products with No Code programmers within the next year.
Ncode's bet
Let's talk about No Code with Joseph Foreigners of the start-up Ncode, the main point of reference in Italy for the development of code-free digital products.
So Giuseppe, tell me about how your reality was born and what moved you to take your first steps in the world of no code.
“Our start-up was born during the first edition of Start-Up Geeks' Start-Up Builder, during which the three founders met and developed the idea that it was possible to create an Academy in Italy for the development of no-code culture in our country as well.
After the first month of work we were ready to present the first pitch, after the initial difficulties related to departure we managed after 6 months of work to open the doors of our community in the spring of 2021, after the initial success in the summer we grew our community with courses and contents we reopened the Academy selections a second time in October and now we plan the reopening for the month of February. Right now our start-up is about to celebrate its first year of life but it already has important collaborations and partnerships behind it that we are very proud of.”
What do you teach in the Academy?
“In the Academy, users have 11 courses and over 30 hours of training available to them, and subscribers are also entitled to discounts and agreements worth over €300,000 on no-code tools. The main tools we deal with are the following:
- Webflow, Web development tool, leading platform on the No Code market for the development of fully responsive websites and complete with CMS, so as to be able to create dynamic content and products.
- Bubble, the #1 platform for building web applications without code. Through Bubble.io it is possible to create almost anything, from Social Networks to dating apps, or even marketplaces, directories, e-commerce, and much more.
- Glide instead it allows you to develop digital products starting from spreadsheets such as Excel sheets or from Google Sheets.
- Air table is the leading platform for data management, with the ability to create internal flows between teams, personal CRM, databases, etc.
- Notion is a No Code platform that allows you to organize your life, create checklists, take notes, create work plans and even effective landing pages or websites. Great tool for team and project management often used for remote team alignment. Notion has been so successful that both Google and Microsoft are developing their own version of this tool.
- Integromat, one of the best Zapier alternatives, is a tool for connecting apps and automating workflows using a no-code visual builder. It allows you to connect to any API and build complex integrations using built-in apps and tools.
- manychat And Landbots they are used to build chatbots and automate communication flows with users. Manychat is more specialized for communication via Facebook or Instagram while Landbot allows you to create a chat on your site so you can quickly be in touch with your customers.
- construct is a Game Design tool that we are analyzing with one of the founders of Gamindo, over 180,000 users have so far used it to create video games.
Other interesting tools that we are discussing and analyzing allow you to create products that use augmented reality, which allow you to interact or create an artificial intelligence without writing code and much more.”
What is the future of No Code?
“I think the future of no code is very interesting as it is a tool that allows you to create MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) in a very fast and interesting way. It also allows a decrease in the learning curve for the creation of digital products and frees programmers from repetitive and routine activities, in fact a large part of web development could become no code with specially written customizations in which case we would prefigure a scenario where even at a technical level we would be talking about work low code.
We also believe that more and more companies will approach No Code and will need to create a sort of Stack Tool that is, to understand which no-code tools to use and connect to each other to create digital products tailored to your needs.
This trend can also lead to a change in the hard skills required for many jobs, knowledge of the No Code could be a requirement for many companies given the advantages and savings it brings, and could replace or complement skills such as knowledge of the Office package (the old ECDL Certification).
The No Code will allow the democratization of development skills and will increase the degree of collaboration and productivity of the IT and Business areas. From experience and mentality we believe that this revolution will benefit the most transversal professionals such as those involved in UX design and graphics, but they can also be important work tools for those involved in Growth Hacking and Digital Marketing."
Thanks to NCode for the collaboration for this episode of the Newsletter, I'll see you next Thursday to talk about other important aspects of digital innovation.
